Director Note 11/27/2023

 Hi guys.

Let me just start by thanking you 50 times for the work you put in! Great job!

Now that you have tasted the actual fruit of your labour I hope you are all still excited to be here. The weather is somewhat unpredictable, but we can deal with it!

Friday night is Skaneateles Sings! Anyone who is available and willing should get to the green room at 5:30. We head over to the library at 6:00pm to help pass out the candles and sing some carols! Father Christmas and Mother Goose will also be there. At 6:30 we will have the blessing of the Creche, Then we lead everyone to the gazebo and have the Girl Scouts sing their carols, a few words from dignitaries and light the tree! Then we can gather at the Methodist Church for refreshments by the girl scouts, Father Christmas and the Magic of the Prestidigitation Packwoods!  It’s really fun and we are out of there by 8:00pm.

We have Byron's Chili dinner on Saturday eve after work! There will be info sheets with the address on Brett’s table. Before we head up there, I am holding auditions for the Radio Play. This year it will be The Christmas Story, about Ralphie and his desire for a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. It’s set in the 1940’s in Indiana and is a charmingly funny play. I will have some script pages for you to read from and it shouldn’t take long,
If you are interested you must be available for a read through in the green room after work on Sat, Dec 09, from 4:30 - 6:00pm. The tech rehearsal is at the Auburn Public Theater on Friday, 12/15 from 5:30 - 9:00pm and the show is on Saturday, 1/16 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. There are both children parts and adult parts available.

I’ll send another note on Thursday.

Please dress extra warmly! Layer, layer layer! Bring a change of socks. We have hand warmers which will help immensely. If you get chilled and need to go into the green room to  warm up, you are NOT released to leave. Get warmed up, get a new hand warmer and go back out and finish the day. If you need to leave you must get approval from a staff member!

Also, bring a cup for water! We will have water available but not in little plastic bottles.

Don’t forget to communicate with the appropriate Director if you need help with something. The Director list is at the bottom and every Director note!

Again, Thanks for a great job!
Cheers!
Jim
