Hi Kids!
Was Sunday afternoon the most beautiful Revels EVER? THAT'S what I’m talking about! The weekend went very well and I want to send a huge thank you to everyone who attended Friday evenings Skaneateles Sings and to Byron and the whole Lee family for opening their beautiful home to us on Saturday! A lovely time!
Here are the notes:
The Revels song intro’s are going great! Remember to face the crowd when you speak, not the Duchess, not the Queen, not your partner. When you don’t face us, we can’t hear you.
Please remember that we are guests (but we kind of represent the hosts) and anytime there are complimentary refreshments offered, such as cookies, we gratefully take ONE and leave the rest for all the other guests. We always remember to say thank you and dispose of thrash properly!
Although only a Director should give you a note, I count on the adults to help teach our younger players good manners. If an adult character asks you to stop disruptive behavior, or reminds you to focus and listen, or only take one cookie I expect you to do it. The end. I mean it. Seriously.
I really want everyone to get into the habit of saying your character name and the names of the characters you are speaking with out loud, Not only does it help us learn names, it let’s the audience hear and learn names! By out loud I mean out LOUD! Project your voice. Stand a little farther apart and share your conversation with those around you!
We work until 4:00pm. Not 3:45. Unless you have gotten permission from a Director please do not go change and hang around the green room before 4:00pm.
Try to remember to take everything you have brought into the green room out with you at the end of the day! We did enjoy the half loaf of bread last night with dinner, but we would rather not have to pick up after you!
The little water bottles are worth .05¢. I paid the .05¢ deposit and I want it back. Please do not put water bottles in the trash.
Doug’s Fish Fry likes it when characters come through, even when they are crowded! You don’t need to spend a lot of time in there, but loudly greet the patrons and rave about the food as you walk through!
Thank you all for the hard work you do! I am very proud of you and all that we bring to the show every day! Keep elevating each other and our guests! It’s what makes Dickens magic!
