Director Notes 11/19

Hi Kids!

I'm home! Things are going great and gearing up! This last weekend of rehearsals will be jam packed with stuff so I'm reminding everyone now we will need to stay focused and work hard! There will be a film crew there on Saturday to capture how we make magic. Please do not let them distract you! It is part of a promotion we are doing for a show on CNY, the Syracuse public television station. We just need to do our work and let them do theirs. No worries!

I want to remind everyone that this is an ensemble cast. Everyone has contributions to make and we all learn from each other. I know for some of you this feels like stuff you've done a million times. It's important that that we all participate, veterans and new folks alike, so that our characters know each other and build relationships. I discover new things every year about my character and yours, and it's fun!

I count on you all to take your commitment to this show seriously. We will always try to work around your conflicts and respect your time. Please do the same and call me if you can't be here. My number is at the bottom of every email. Thanks!

I also want to remind you to listen to your directors and do what you are asked. Sometimes you may not understand the reasoning behind a request, or disagree in general, but I trust them and there just isn't time for them to have to justify things to you. Please, take the note. I'll talk more about this in person because it is important to me.

We did our best to get everyone in the program. Please understand there may be some omissions or mistakes. Forgive me. You all ROCK!

We have a request for anyone interested and available: Lights on the Lake has requested some Dickens characters to sing at their opening from 6-7 on Tuesday, November 24th. This is the night of the kick- off party so I can not attend. Let me know this weekend if you can do it!

I belong to a small 1800's Methodist Church in LaFayette, and would like to invite anyone who would be able to come there on December 12 to sing a few carols and maybe tell a story or two. This would be a free will offering show put on by us, the Dickens' cast of Skan., our church really needs the help. There is food in it for your participation. They will be doing a Pasta dinner before the show starting 5:30 - 6:30, Singing at 7:30, with a dessert reception with us after. We will do this in costume, and anyone that needs a ride will be accommodated.Did I mention FREE FOOD.
