DCS 2023 Director Note 1

 Boo! Happy Halloween!

This Saturday is our first rehearsal! 

We will shake off the Halloween cobwebs and get to work building our characters and learning music! Please do your best to be on time! We will be finishing at 4:00pm this first weekend. Parents, please be on time for pickup! We never leave anyone waiting at the church without a staff person present and we all have things to do.

Please bring any signed paperwork in with you. There will be a sign in sheet when you arrive and all the paperwork goes to Brett, our Production Manager.

Please check your email regularly as this is how we communicate any work info. If you would, please always add DCS 2023 to the subject line. This allows my filter to put the message where I won’t loose it! Also, please reply (to me only, not reply all) with a got it or thanks so I know you are getting the info. If you are NOT participating please let me know so I can update the email list!

As Maria and I work out casting, please remember that we have to balance out the character families. This means you may not get the part you initially want. We do take that into consideration of course, but the needs of the show come first! Whatever part you get will be excellent! Keep an open mind.

Our goal is for every cast member to have a positive and fun experience! If at any time you are are NOT having a fun and positive experience it’s crucial that you let one of us know. We can’t help remedy things if we don’t know about them. This applies to direction as well. Sharing ideas is good, but telling another actor what to do is not. That is the job of the directors. If you feel the need to help someone with character choices please discuss it with a director and let us do our job! 

Our number one rule is to be kind and always make positive choices! We are all here to support each other and that comes from a place of love. Our characters all love each other like family! Keep in mind that you want to elevate your self, your fellow cast members and our guests!
