Director Notes 11/20/2017

Hi kids!
Thank you all for doing a good job staying on task Sunday! I’m feeling really good about the opening and the characters you have built so far. Your characters will only grow stronger as you perform them!

The call is 11:00am in the green room. Remember to come as dressed as you can. Put your coats on the hangers that you take your costume off of. Keep your personal stuff on the floor either under your space on the rack or against the wall. Leave the two tables for lunch!

Please remember to keep your breaks short. I want you to eat etc but we can’t all be in there at once. Tracey and Kristen P will help you keep track of time, I’m sure!

We will begin morning notes at 11:25 and call places at 11:40. If you find you need to get there a little early so you can be ready by 11:25, please do so! When places is called you must head right out, not stand around chatting. Chat on your way to the opening!

The festival continues until 4:00pm. Please do not come in before then. You may start heading back at 5 of. Please try to not all walk back in a big group. Depending on where you are in town, some of you walk around past the Creamery, some walk through the lot by the Artisans etc. It kind of breaks the atmosphere for the guests if they see the herd all leaving at once. Remember you are in character until you reach the Village Hall! Wish passerby's well as you walk back!

Bring a change of socks and dress for the weather! We are outside a long time! Keep warm by visiting sponsor shops and restaurants!

I’ve attached the Auburn Parade line up letter so those of you who can come Saturday night will know what to do. It’s really fun and I’ll have candy canes for you to pass out to the crowd! You will be very popular! At the end of the parade we need to see that young people have found their folks and/or ride home. Please don’t just run off, I’ll fret!

Have a great Thanksgiving and just know that I’m so very thankful for all of you! You give me so much Joy!

See you Friday!
xoxo
Jim

To ensure everyone’s safety there will be NO CANDY THROWN from floats or vehicles in the parade. You may have people walking & handing out candy. This will also help with the parade flow, as crowds will not block the parade path and slow it down by catching candy. We encourage having holiday music playing on your float or with your marchers. This makes the event more festive. Please also remember, there will be NO other SANTAS or Mrs. CLAUS on floats or other vehicles in the parade. It will confuse the children.
It’s been requested by the judges that participants make extra effort to identify their floatProminently displayed signs & banners are needed so the judges know who is who!
Floats are judged on a point system by holiday theme, creativity, identity and enthusiasm.
Last, it’s very important when you reach the end of the parade route keep moving! Do not stop until you have moved out of the way, as you will back-up the parade behind you. Please continue straight towards the City Hall parking lot, but do not block the Wegmans side entrance. You can also turn right onto South Street to unload your float & vehicles. If you can unload elsewhere, further away from the parade activity, please do so. Thank you very much for your cooperation, and before the parade, come downtown for Family Fun!
