What a fabulous rehearsal weekend!
First I want to thank those performers who were not required to be here till next weekend but who came and contributed so much to the ensemble! I appreciate your commitment!
I am so proud of all of you for getting so much accomplished! We now have a complete cast list for the program and a great start on costuming! You focusing and concentration really pays off. The music sounds awesome! Kristen has really succeeded in brining out the best in your wonderful voices. Well done!
The improv was wonderful. I know for some of you it’s a new experience and somewhat outside of your comfort zones but that’s why we rehearse it! It is a formula you can learn and get very good at! Make a positive offer in the form of a statement. Accept that offer and add some positive information. It’s really simple and we can exercise those brain skills like we exercise any muscle and make it stronger. Make statements not questions, say yes, add information to build a scene!
You are going to hear me say over and over everything we do must be positive! I truly believe that as long was we are elevating ourselves, our partners and our show we can’t go wrong!
Next week we will be walking our route in town! Please make sure you are dressed for whatever weather we have. I’m thinking this will happen first Saturday and we will end up at the green room so Tracey can decide who she needs first for costuming. We will block out the opening ceremonies, and the Mid-Day Revels! The afternoon will be music, more character building and improv and language and customs of the time! Sunday we will only rehearse until 3:00 and focus on costumes, character and music! As always, this may change! :)
