Directors Note and Get Well Ebenezer Scrooge!

Hi Kids!
Well our beloved Mr Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Krigbaum has taken a spill and fractured his hip! He is all right and recuperating at the VA Hospital in Syracuse. fortunately our own Prince Albert and director John Decker will step up to the plate and fill in! We are hoping it’s only for this weekend, but John will stay a sourpuss all season if necessary! This means Scrooge can take a more active role in our interactions and during the Revels etc, but Scrooge will be very busy all day visiting shops and handing out “bills” to people with the threat of eviction on Christmas Day if they don’t pay!

Some extra stuff for opening weekend! I’m just going to copy Sue’s note here so you can all see all of it!

On Saturday, the Syracuse Alumni Brigadier Brass Band is performing outside in front of the Masonic Temple.  They may also do a set over on the steps of the Old Stone Mill.  They would like to warm up in your green room at noon.  I told them to introduce themselves to you.  They performed with us last year – so I hope this works out ok for you.
Other notes for this weekend:
Friday – Kim Teneiro is at the Library at 1 and 3 pm with a Prologue to A Christmas Carol.  Promote the full one man show on Dec 21st at 3:30 at the United MethodistChurch.
Saturday – from 1-3 pm around the Village – Syracuse Alumni Brigadier Brass Band, starting at 1 pm in front of Masonic Temple.
Sunday – 1 pm carolers at gazebo for engagement couple.
Friday and Sunday – someone to sell raffle tickets in front of 42 E Genesee St.  I will  have table set up for them.  Please have whoever is selling tickets to stop by my office and I will have tickets and bucket ready for them.
Salvation Army – need help only from 3-4 at the bucket over by Vermont GreenMountain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Need person to count guests at the L ibrary on Friday and Sat for the 1 and 3 pm performances.  Get there at least 15 minutes prior.
Chestnut person – we will set them up with raffle tickets.
A couple helpers with parade traffic.  One at the corner of Fennell and Jordan and one at the corner of Jordan and West Genesee.
Horse and wagon will pick you guys up at Village Hall each day at 11:55 (except for Friday for parade).
I don’t know what else I missed .  Thanks for everything – it’s going to be huge!!

And here is the Auburn Parade on SATURDAY night info!

WHERE:        The parade will assemble on East Genesee Street starting at the N. Fulton Street intersection on the north side of the street, and continue along East Genesee Street going towards Hoopes Park. The side streets will not be utilized, and many will be closed to traffic. Seward Avenue will remain open, so please use this street to gain access onto Genesee Street.
WHEN:          5 - 6PM on Saturday, November 30
LINE UP:        The line-up list is attached. Please look for the name of your organization on a sign staked out on E. Genesee Street. Each organization has been allotted the footage stated on your sign-up form. Line-up next to your sign as space is calculated from the stake back. Stakes will be in by 5PM, please do not arrive before, and do not take space from those next to you in the line-up.
To ensure everyone’s safety there will be NO CANDY thrown from FLOATS or VEHICLES in the parade. You may have people walking & handing out candy. This will also help with the parade flow, as crowds will not block the parade path and slow it down by catching candy.

Please feel free to have holiday music playing on your float or with your marchers. This makes the event more festive. Please also remember, there will be NO other SANTAS or MRS. CLAUS on floats or other vehicles in the parade. It will confuse the children.

So  that’s it in a nutshell! I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! I’m very thankful for getting to work with all of YOU  making Dickens Christmas Magic!

See everyone Friday!
xoxo
