The Dickens News! Finally!

Hi Kids!
Thank you all for being patient! Here’s the Dickens News!

First of all, some staff changes. Our esteemed Managing Director Brian Goldblatt has elected to withdraw from Dickens. This will enable him to have a life and completely heal his body from recent medical procedures. Brian has served Dickens Christmas well for the last ten years and I will miss him more then I cay say. Thank you Brian for a job well done! Love and Light!
I am proud to announce the addition of Brett Norsworthy as Managing Secretary. Brett will act as a stage manager as well as taking care of the organizational tasks Brian did so well.
Also I’m pleased to announce the addition of John Decker as Associate Director. John brings a wealth of experience directing the groundlings program at Sterling and will assist Maria with workshops and overall directing duties that Brian also did so well.
Maria Wechsler will continue to be our Artistic Directer, Kristen Baskewicz our Musical Director and Tracey Greene our Wardrobe Director.

And now the updated schedule for the 2013 Skaneateles Dickens Christmas! Please notice that some of the times vary due to conflicts at the church!  This weekend’s rehearsal is for new cast members only on Saturday 11/2  from 12:00 noon until 3:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church. We welcome our new folks and cover the basics! Our Costumer Tracey Greene will go over the care and upkeep of your costumes and yourselves! It can be cold and wet out there. She’ll cover what you should wear in from home etc. Our Managing Secretary Brett Norsworthy will be accepting paperwork. Brett will also be who you give your scheduling conflicts to.

Sunday 11/3 our Music Director Kristen Baskewicz is recording all the music parts for you so there is no rehearsal Sunday. The music will be posted by  Brett.

The next 3 weekend rehearsals are all cast, unless you have made other specific arrangements. These rehearsals will be focused on character development and music! Our Artistic Director Maria Wechsler and Associate Director John Decker will help you build your characters from the ground up and teach you to behave as a Victorian era citizen! Language and Improvisation will be covered here as well.

By the end of the second weekend, 11/9 and 10, our characters need to know who they are and what their name is! Kevin Pelletier will photograph you for the program this weekend as well! Brett will organize the cast list for the program making sure your name is spelled correctly, your character name is listed and that all matches up to the correct photo! If you want to be in the program don’t miss this.

I will be joining you for the last two rehearsal weekend and we will have a great time putting it all together! I love this process and really love this ensemble! I can’t wait!

I have spelled  the @ and the . so Brett's address would not bet picked up by web crawling spiders!

Please remember that you may be asked to play different character than you have played before. Please just enjoy the refreshing change of pace! Trust your directors!

The Dickens Cast Facebook page is a nice way to plan after hours bowling and such but I refuse to do business on Facebook It is a social place. Please remember nothing is official just because you saw it on Facebook! Your Directors will email and post official stuff on our blog site, http://dickenscastcentral.blogspot.com Please utilized it!

I'm sure there will be more soon! Watch this space!
Cheers!
Jim
