Director Notes 11/21/10

Good work today! Rehearsal is over, let the magic commence! I want to thank everyone for doing such a good job staying focused, being patient and not generating garbage!
Here are some general notes!

Make positive choices! Remember to always elevate your audience, fellow actors and yourself. Treat everyone with respect and always use good manors.

Project! Volume is a key issue whenever you speak. There is a lot of background noise outdoors so don't be bashful! Speak so that the folks across the street (who will be watching you) can hear you.

Throw focus! Focus on whoever is speaking, whether it's a dignitary at the Revels or the nice lady in the Sherwood lobby. Focus is especially crucial at the Revels though. It helps all of our guests know who is speaking.

Listen! Listen to what people are saying. You can really make the magic happen by accepting the offers people will give you. Remember to say yes and build on those offers by adding more information.

Eye contact! Look people in the eye when you greet them!

Use your good judgement when entering shops. Look for the sponsorship sign in the window. If the merchant says "Your packages aren't ready yet." thank them and leave. If the shop is overly crowded bypass it.

Remember to dress warmly. Layer! I made a big mistake today down by the lake and I was very cold. It's always windy and we're standing still. Brrrrrr! Bring an extra pair of socks to change into.

Continue to pick up after yourselves. You all know how snugly we fit into the green room and it really needs to stay as neat as it can.

The call is 11:00am. Sign in, get dressed and wait in the hall. At 11:40 we will gather for morning notes and then we will head to places. This first day we will head to the police station to get ready for the "Worlds Smallest Christmas Parade". The Sheriff, Constables, Town Crier, and a few others will head to the Sherwood to greet the parade.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend time with all of you! Have a great Thanksgiving and we will see you Friday! Woo Hoo!
