I have finished my shows down here in Florida and will be heading home tomorrow! I have been getting good reports and and can't wait to see everyone's characters in action next week!
I really love the rehearsal process and want to remind you all that this is the time to get on our feet and shine brightly for each other. I know it's a little nerve racking the first few times but this is the safe place to play with our characters and use the tools we are learning to build strong foundations. Always remember to make positive choices and elevate yourselves, your fellow actors and your audience! It's just so much fun!
A few general notes for everyone.
Please remember character and performance notes are for Directors to give. Actors should not give other actors notes. If you have questions about your character choices ask one of us. If you have a suggestion for another character tell one of us. We are there to support you and we will listen to your questions and your suggestions and will encourage you to explore and discover who your character is. At the same time we want to ensure that our vision of the show remains constant and to that end we need you to trust us and take any notes we give you. This is very important to me and I'll talk more about this Saturday.
Please make sure Brian Goldblatt has you character names. Even if you told him, send it to him in an email. Brian has done a great job of keeping up with the paperwork and we want to help him with that. It's a lot of names...
I want to thank Lydia Shahan and Brien Bianchi for their roles as Captains. They both offer a lot of experience and are a great help!
I also want to thank Micki Bailey, Eileen Parkman and Brett and Fran Norsworthy for their willingness to help Tracey with costuming. That is a huge job. Please remember that Tracey is our costumer and has to make choices based on what's appropriate for the period or simply availability. Support her and you will look great!
I know this doesn't need to be said but I'm saying it anyway. You represent not only Scarlett Rat Entertainment but the whole town of Skaneateles and your behavior counts. There is never any smoking allowed in costume. There is also never any use of alcohol when you're on my clock. You must always use good manors not only with our audience but with each other.
Parents please be prompt picking up your children. We all have busy lives.
The bowling thing sounds like fun! Thanks Brett!
OK. I think that's enough for tonight. I have been very happy with the job all of you are doing! Your Directors and I are very proud of you! I really can't wait to hear you sing! Music is such a great source of joy! And I want something to get renaissance festival music out of my head. Huzzah!
xoxo
